President Budgets N10billion To Renovate Gbajabiamila’s Official Residence

President Bola Tinubu has earmarked N10 billion for the reconstruction and refurbishment of the official residence of his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

This allocation is part of Tinubu’s overall budget of N21 billion dedicated to Gbajabiamila, as outlined in the budget estimates presented to the National Assembly last month.

SaharaReporters previously disclosed that the 2024 Nigerian budget proposal also allocates N10.13 billion for meals and travels for Tinubu and his Vice, Kashim Shettima.

The N27.5 trillion budget proposal is currently under scrutiny by the National Assembly.

According to the budget, Tinubu is set to spend N638.5 million on local trips and N6.9 billion on foreign trips, amounting to a total of N7.6 billion. Shettima’s travel expenses will reach N1.8 billion, with N618.4 million designated for local journeys and N1.2 billion for international trips.

In the proposed breakdown, Gbajabiamila has allocated N104 million for the acquisition of computers and printers. Additionally, the Chief of Staff’s office plans to spend N579 million on “local travel and transport for international training,” while “miscellaneous” expenses are expected to reach N103 million.

During the budget presentation to a joint session, legislative approval was sought for a total spending plan that includes 1.78 million barrels per day of crude oil, a borrowing plan of N7.8 trillion, and an exchange rate of N700 to the US dollar.
