Gunmen Stole Kogi Gov’ship Election Petitions From Tribunal Secretary – Police

The Kogi State Police Command has officially confirmed a disturbing incident involving the attack on Mr. David Umar Mike, the secretary of the state’s gubernatorial election Tribunal, which took place in Lokoja on Monday.

During the assault, unidentified gunmen successfully absconded with crucial petition documents pertaining to the recently concluded gubernatorial election in the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Aya, made this revelation in Lokoja on Wednesday.

According to the police, the assailants, wielding firearms, forcibly took possession of all petition documents submitted by five political parties.

Among these documents were petitions filed by the Action Alliance (AA), Action People’s Party (APP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Additionally, the perpetrators made off with two Record Books and a bag containing personal items belonging to Mr. David Umar Mike.

This alarming incident transpired just before reaching the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) office around 1320hrs on Monday.

The victims were en route to the tribunal venue located at the state High court complex in Lokoja, further highlighting the audacity and timing of the attack.
