The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Emeka Ihedioha in Imo State sought a certificate of return as the state’s rightful governor, challenging Governor Hope Uzodinma’s eligibility due to a prior court declaration naming Uche Nwosu as the rightful candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, the Supreme Court, in a verdict delivered by Justice Tijjani Abubakar on Tuesday, dismissed Ihedioha’s plea, deeming it lacking in merit and unnecessary.
The court also imposed a N40 million cost against Mike Ozekhome for bringing the matter before the court.
