A commercial tricycle driver allegedly disappeared in Umuahia, Abia State, with four children he was contracted to take to school.
The victims, named Mmesoma, Testimony, Godswill, and Chinwotito, are the children of Chimaobi Aga, a native of Amasiri, Ebonyi State, and a resident of Umuagu, Umuahia.
State Police Command spokesperson Maureen Chinaka, who confirmed the incident, said the case was reported to the Owuhu Police Station on November 28, 2023.
According to the PPRO, the parents of the missing children reported that the keke riders took the children to an unknown destination.
They reported the matter to the Ohuhu Police Department, which initiated action by the department’s DPO to search for the children in the neighborhood, including the hotel.
The investigation is ongoing.
When pressed, the children’s father said the incident occurred while he was on a business trip.
Upon his return, his wife informed him of the incident.
