Lagos Government Issues Stop Work Order To A Developer In Lekki

The Drainage Enforcement and Compliance Department of the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources recently issued a cease-work directive to a developer situated along System 156, behind Victoria Crest Estate II in the Lekki region of the state.

This directive stems from the developer’s unauthorized activities, notably the illicit sand filling of the channel, conducted without securing the required approval from state authorities.

To highlight this issue, Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources shared pertinent photos on his social media handle last Friday, December 1.

He wrote; “Operatives of Drainage Enforcement and Compliance dept from the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources on Thursday (30/11/2023) issued a STOP WORK ORDER to a developer along System 156 behind Victoria Crest Estate II in Lekki for illegally sandfilling the channel and carrying out reclamation work without any approval from the state.”
