A judge in Akure, Ondo State, has ordered that notorious kidnapper Bode Agbedun be remanded at the Orokuta Correctional Center on charges of armed robbery and kidnapping
State Attorney P.O. Nwafor informed the court that the defendant and his gang committed the crimes on November 25, 2023, at approximately 2:00 a.m. in Igodan, New Site District, Okitipupa.
Nwafor stated that the defendants, fully armed with dangerous weapons, broke into the house of Ilesanmi Goodluck and attempted to kidnap one of his children and also stole his property.
The defendant possessed a loaded firearm without a valid license.
According to the charges, the offense is contrary to Sections 6 and 5 of the Ondo State Anti-Kidnapping Act of 2010, Sections 1(2)(a) and (b), 6(2) and 411 of the Criminal Code, and the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act Cap RII of the Federal Laws of Nigeria, 2004.
It is also contrary to Section 412 of the Criminal Code Act, Cap. 37, Vol. 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

The prosecutor asked the court to remand the defendant to the custody of the Olocta Correctional Center until further advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Judge Damilola Sekoni ordered that the defendant be detained at the Olocta Correctional Center and adjourned the case to January 25, 2023.
