Former Benue State Commissioner, Alhaji Shehu Osman, has died at the age of 91.
Mr. Osman, from Kiana, Nasarawa State, died on Wednesday, November 1. 29, Charitos Trust Hospital, Zabi, Abuja.
Family members who broke the news announced that the late politician would be buried at the National Mosque in Abuja the same day after Zuhoor prayers.
The family said in a statement: “Inna Illahi and Inna Illaihir Taki have arrived. With heavy hearts but complete surrender to the will of God, the family of Alhaji Shehu Osman would like to announce his death today, November 29, 2023 at Charitos Trust Hospital, Jabi, Abuja at the age of 91 years. Short illness.
May God forgive the soul of the deceased and give grace to Aljanna Firdaus. Amen.”
Funeral Prayers Islamic funeral prayers will be offered at the National Mosque, Abuja at 1:30pm after Zuhoor prayers. Interment followed in Goodoo Cemetery.
Alhaji Shehu Osman was born on June 26, 1932. Before his death, he received the prestigious title Magajin Garin Keana.
The deceased held various ministerial positions during his tenure. He also held several positions in the federal administration.
