Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State is now taking his case to the Supreme Court, challenging the Appeal Court’s decision to remove him from office.
Previously, the Appeal Court had ousted Yusuf, a member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), citing his ineligibility to contest.
The court declared Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the rightful winner of the governorship election.
The Appeal Court’s ruling on Yusuf’s membership in the NNPP during the election has caused significant confusion.
In response, the court has instructed concerned lawyers to provide certified true copies of the judgment for corrections.
The discrepancy in the certified true copies has added to the confusion, as they seemingly indicate that the court upheld Yusuf’s victory despite its earlier decision.
