Renowned political activist Aisha Yesufu has issued a challenge to President Bola Tinubu, urging him to emulate the example set by former Vice President and PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Yesufu’s call came in response to a post by Atiku Abubakar shared on Wednesday via X.
In her challenge, Yesufu specifically addressed Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, urging him to encourage the President to visit his alma mater.
Atiku Abubakar had recently visited his own alma mater in Jada, Adamawa State, where he not only paid a visit but also extended scholarships to deserving indigent pupils.
This noteworthy gesture serves as a benchmark for civic engagement and support for education.
Posting a video of his visit on his social media, Atiku wrote: “Nostalgic. Today, I returned to where it all started. My Alma Mater, Central Primary School, Jada. – AA”
Reacting to the development, Yesufu posted on X, saying: “Where is that mentally abducted afterthought of an SSA @aonanuga1956?
“Focus on getting Chief Tinubu or whatever he decides to call himself today to go to his alma mater too.
“By the way, my husband was at the reunion of his secondary school during the weekend.”
The academic records of President Tinubu were subject of debate ahead and after the 2023 elections over claims that he never attended primary and secondary schools in Nigeria.
