An apprentice tradesman, identified as Onome, was beaten to death by his boss, identified as Ornolu, in Sapele, Delta State.
Punch reports that the incident occurred a few days ago at the workshop of a Delta State carpenter along New Ogorode Street in Sapele. In addition to disciplining his apprentice for being “late,” Ornault accused Onome of stealing his cash machine card.
This led to a firm disciplinary action by way of a beating, he said.
However, the alleged beating took a new turn when the apprentice boy complained to his parents of pain all over his body as soon as he arrived home. He reportedly told his parents about the beating, but after they took him to the hospital for treatment, he died before receiving any attention.
When Mr. Ornault, the apprentice’s mentor, was informed of the boy’s death, he went into hiding.
