Meanwhile, Bayelsa State Police Commissioner Francis Idowu urged police authorities to uncover cult associates hiding in Bayelsa State, stressing that the Bayelsa State Police under his command will not be a safe place for criminals to hide out.

LIB reported that the suspected cultists shot and killed SP Bako Angbasim on Friday, September 8. The deceased police officer and his men had been engaged in a fierce gun battle with a notorious cult leader in the area known as “Tubaba” when they reportedly ran out of ammunition. With no reinforcements, the police officers made a tactical retreat, but unfortunately, the DPO, who suffered a gunshot wound during the engagement, was captured by the cultists. A harrowing video, supposedly released by the cult, showed Baco’s dismembered body and voices mocking him.
