Peter Obi Opposes Tinubu Over Budget Supplementary, Calls For Clearification

The labour party’s 2023 presidential candidate , Peter Obi has opposed the federal government over #2.17 trillion 2023 suoolimentary Budget.

Obi claimed that certain emergencies and critical National needs were over looked by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
His observation on on supplementary budget reads.

 

“,A supplementary budget is designed for a crucial National welfare needs not originally covered in the main Budget or lacking sufficient funding.

“,while some some items in the current budget may not have considered the needs of the new administration, a suoolimentary this late in the financial year is expected to address urgent items of national welfare.

“, unfortunately,the most pressing National needs and emergencies are absent from the supplementary Budget.

Peter Obi cited instance of of the warning from the United Nation and world food programme about potential hunger affecting up to 6.5million Nigerians next year in some states have not been addressed.

He criticises the lack of urgency for national welfare by Tinubu led administration in the supplementary budget instead , the focus is on items like presidential Yacht, jets and furnishing of presidential quarters and offices.

Main while,the minister of information and National orientation, Muhammed Idris offered a defense of the 2023 suoolimentary Budget admit dispute from Peter Obi.

The supplementary budget which is recently signed into law by president Bola Tinubu ,Idris stated that “the supplementary Budget is a necessary response to the current economic challenges facing the country”

Information minister dispute Peter obi’s claim of insensitivity in the supplementary budget stating that it is a bold and pragmatic to the pressing economic challenges in Nigeria.

He urge obi to familiarize himself with details of #2.17trillion 2023 supplementary budget .
