Dr. Good luck Jonathan , the former president of Nigeria has addressed the people of Bayelsa,imo and kogi states over electoral violence that rock the state in the November 11th off – circle governorship election.
Jonathan stated to the politicians ” if you love your people,you would not recruit thugs to kill them”.
GEJ urged politicians and their supporters to abstain from from misconduct and violence during elections, emphasing the posibility
that such acts could spark crises.
The former president in a statement stressed that it is the duty of the Politicians to deter illegal activities during and after election process .
He specifically address the people of kogi,imo and Bayelsa State advising them to behave in a manner that would not jeopardize the security of their states and Nigeria at large.
He pointed at the profund impact such misconduct during elections, staying
” we the politicians and indeed our supporters know that such misconducts during elections could result in crises,and for us,the politicians,we must not encourage criminality in Electoral processes”.
The former president convey a strong a strong message about the value of human life.
“No body’s. Political ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian,and we must know that if you mean well for your people and you want to govern them, you would not recruit thugs to kill them
“You cannot kill and govern the graves,you must govern the people that are alive. You must encourage young people to go to school or get something to do and not to engage in thurgery” he stated.
