The Kogi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is urging security agencies to conduct their operations impartially, emphasizing the importance of fairness.
Kingsley Fanwo, the spokesperson/director of media and publicity for the APC governorship campaign, conveyed in a statement that the ruling party supports all endeavors aimed at achieving a peaceful election scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2023.
Fanwo clarified that the upcoming election is a crucial moment for the electorate to determine the leader who will govern the state starting January 27, 2024, emphasizing that there should be no grounds for insecurity within the state.
He also expressed the concerns of the campaign council regarding the “needless raid on the residences of some of our chieftains in Kogi East”, noting that the party “hold the hope that they are not specifically targeted ahead of the election”.
The statement further reads: “We hereby call on security agencies to act professionally, fairly and with the patriotic intent to maintain law and order before, during and after the election”.
