President Bola Tinubu has landed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, ahead of the upcoming Saudi-Africa Summit slated for Friday.
Upon his arrival in the Middle-Eastern nation, the Nigerian leader received a warm welcome from ministers, members of the National Assembly, and other government officials at the airport.
Tinubu aims to leverage the summit to emphasize Nigeria’s dedication to attracting increased foreign direct investment and fostering broader business collaborations.
As per Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesman, this visit will significantly bolster the administration’s ongoing initiatives for domestic economic reforms.
Discussions at the first Saudi-Africa Summit will revolve around supporting joint action, enhancing political coordination, and addressing regional security threats.
It would also facilitate economic transformation through research and the local development of new energy solutions, which was expected to boost cross-sectoral investment cooperation, Ngelale noted.
Those accompanying the President on the trip are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar; Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman and the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Mr Wale Edun.
Others are the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu; the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar; and the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Malam Jalal Arabi.
The President is expected to return to Abuja following the conclusion of the Saudi-Africa Summit.
