A group of suspected kidnappers have kidnapped a journalist, Usman Umar Sahabi, in Adamawa State
The journalist was abducted in the early hours of Thursday, November 2, 2023, from his home in Uro Chekeke, Yola.
‘About five armed men stormed his house around 1:00 this morning, broke into his room and took him away at gunpoint. So far no ransom has been demanded.
Mr. Sahabi was a staff member of ABC Yola and Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
Spokesman for the state police command, Sulaiman Ngoroje, who confirmed the incident, said the police had deployed all operational assets to ensure that the journalist was rescued alive.
We are deploying operational personnel around the clock to ensure that the abducted journalists are rescued alive,” he said.
‘Since we learned of this incident, we have been working without rest to track down the perpetrators, rescue the journalists alive, and apprehend the perpetrators.
