The Senate on Tuesday, October 31, approved the nomination of Zack Adedeji as the Federal Internal Revenue Service (FIRS) chairman.
Adedeji, who attended the Senate’s review on Tuesday, said he will improve the country’s revenue and stop most of the tax leakage in the oil and gas sector.
He also vowed to centralize Nigeria’s identification system and improve the country’s data mining capabilities.
Prior to Adedeji’s appointment, Tinubu had instructed former FIRS President Muhammad Nnami to take a three-month pre-retirement leave.
