Three people were killed and two seriously injured in a road accident along Itamaga-Ijede road in Ikorodu, Lagos, on Tuesday, October 31
The accident occurred at about 8:05 a.m. and involved a Toyota Camry and a tricycle.
The car, which was traveling at high speed, crossed the other side of the road and rammed into the tricycle, killing the three passengers (one adult and two elementary school students) on the spot.
One of the injured, a junior high school student, fell into a coma and was taken to the hospital for treatment along with the tricycle driver.
However, the driver of the Camry car turned on his heel immediately after the incident.
According to witnesses at the scene, the Kamuli car was heading toward Ikorodu community, Ijede, and was traveling at top speed, making it impossible for the driver to control the car before it crashed into the tricycle, which was heading toward Ikorodu Garage.
The accident occurred near the Sele bus stop in Ijede Local Council Development Area, Ijede.
Police investigators then rushed to the scene of the accident and towed the tricycle and car to the police station in Ijede.
