A 500-level student at the University of Benin was shot dead
Two other students were also shot and wounded in an attack at the university on Friday evening, October 27. Their condition is currently unknown.
According to online reports, the fight started a few days ago in the Equidoror and led to today’s shooting in Uniben.
Some claim that it was a cult clash and that the perpetrators are cultists.
A video shared online shows a red car with bullet holes. The man’s body was removed from the vehicle and carried to the back of a pickup van, where it was laid to rest.
Terrified students gathered at the scene, staring in shock.
Shell casings were scattered on the floor and blood stains were visible. The man’s face cap was also left on the floor.
Other students injured in the crash posted pictures of their injuries on X (formerly known as Twitter).
