Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, officiated the inauguration of a new commissioner, Honorable Mrs. Beverly Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche.
The ceremony took place at the Anambra State Government House in Awka, where Mrs. Nkemdiche assumed her role as the Commissioner for Special Duties.
She succeeds Honorable Sly Ezeokenwa, who had been originally appointed to the position by Governor Soludo but subsequently secured his election as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Following her swearing-in, Governor Soludo urged Commissioner Nkemdiche to exhibit proactivity and innovative thinking in order to fulfill his commitments to the people of Anambra.
Soludo said: βAs you take this solemn oath of office and allegiance, I wish to remind you of the high expectations that come with this role. Ndα» Anambra have entrusted you with the responsibility of ensuring that special duties are carried out efficiently and effectively.
βIt is no secret that this new position requires utmost dedication and commitment. It is a role that demands a person who can think outside the box, show empathy and establish positive relationships with all stakeholders. I am pleased to say that you possess these and many other qualities that qualify you for this job.
