Renowned broadcaster and communication expert, Jika Attoh, has passed away.
Igbere TV learnt that he breathed his last at POSH Hospital in New Haven, Enugu State, following an extended battle with an undisclosed illness.
The Enugu chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) confirmed Attoh’s passing on Wednesday, October 25.
Attoh first gained recognition for his contributions to the well-known Kaakaki program on Africa Independent Television (AIT), founded by the late Raymond Dokpesi. Subsequently, he became a part of Cosmo FM, which was owned by former Enugu State governor, Chimaroke Nnamani.
During his tenure, the radio station notably became the first broadcasting channel to provide round-the-clock services in the eastern region of Nigeria.
Attoh’s professional journey also included a significant stint at the Enugu State Broadcasting Service, where he made substantial improvements to the station’s programming and overall service quality.
Before joining the West Africa Broadcast and Media Academy (WABMA), this former news anchor from Channels Television had assumed the role of an instructor, specializing in broadcast training and management.
