Ola Olukoyede, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has ordered officers of the commission to declare their assets.
Olukoide, who gave the order on Tuesday, October 24, at the headquarters of the anti-corruption agency in Abuja, said it was in line with civil service rules and procedures.
He said the fight against corruption requires being ahead of the frontline.
The EFCC chairman said:
“We all declare our assets.
Level 17 and below. I did my job, so I have nothing to fear that others will do the same.
“Even the secretary did the same.
Maybe you’ve done it before, but we all have to do it again.
We promote and inspect our properties. We must set a good example by exceeding the standards and pace ourselves.
“As anti-corruption activists, our hands must be clean, so we must declare our assets.”
