In an undercover operation against looting terrorists in Sokoto State, troops of the 8th Division launched a well-planned offensive operation in Tukandu town, targeting a notorious group of terrorists responsible for several brutal and heinous acts in the area.
The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, who disclosed this in a statement, said the army carried out the operation on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
“Many terrorists were killed in the fierce attack by the army, while some escaped with gunshot wounds.
In a subsequent operation, troops recovered three AK-47 rifles, one PKT pistol, 125 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two rocket-propelled grenades and nine motorcycles, the statement said.
“The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taored Lagbaja commended the troops and ordered them to intensify operations for their bravery and eliminate the terrorists and deprive them of freedom of action.”
