Jandor Seeks Transfer of Appeal Against Sanwo-Olu

The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18 election, Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, has formally requested the relocation of his appeal against the ruling of the election petition tribunal to the Federal Capital, Abuja.

In a letter dated October 23, addressed to Justice Monica Dongbam-Mensem, the President of the Court of Appeal, Jandor emphasized that this transfer is essential to ensure an impartial and objective legal process, free from potential interference.

This notice was promptly received on the same day by the office of the President of the appellate court.

Justice Dongban-Mensem, as part of her ongoing commitment to maintaining the integrity of the judicial system and minimizing political influence, has previously transferred all election petition cases from the 36 states to either Abuja or Lagos.

Jandor, on October 13, filed a 34 grounds notice of appeal challenging the September 25 judgment of the tribunal.

In the grounds of appeal, the PDP candidate and his party also reiterated the reliefs in their petitions, asking for the disqualification of the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (Babajide Sanwo-Olu) and Labour Party (Gbadebo Rhodes-Viviour).

Jandor also wants the Court of Appeal to hold that all the votes recorded for both candidates in the said election were wasted votes owing to their non-qualification to participate in the election.
