The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, recently embarked on a visit to Caverton Helicopters in Lagos State.
Through his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Keyamo shared his experience during the visit on a Sunday.
During his visit, the minister conducted an inspection of the company’s cutting-edge Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility.
Keyamo revealed that one of his objectives of the ministry is to support and encourage local operators. Keyamo also said he took a crash course in piloting a helicopter with the company’s very modern helicopter simulator.
He wrote: “On Friday, I rounded off my week by paying a visit to the Caverton Helicopters in Lagos, a subsidiary of Caverton Offshore Support Group (COSG), where I inspected the company’s state-of-the-art Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility.
“One of my KPIs is to support and encourage our local operators. I also took a crash course in piloting a helicopter with the company’s very modern helicopter simulator. Guess what? I was then handed an Honorary Captain’s Certificate.”
