The Lagos State Government destroys a building that was obstructing Ikota drainage channel.

The Ikota drainage channel continues to see the demolition of unauthorized buildings placed on drainage setbacks and canals by the Lagos State Government.

 

 

The moment another structure was demolished was captured on camera and posted on the X handle of Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on  Media.

“Ongoing: Enforcement of demolition orders served to owners of unauthorized structures located along the Gedegede-Mobil-Megabond Estate-Ikota drainage channels.

Tokunbo Wahab, the state’s Commissioner for the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, claims that the current operation aims to lessen flooding and permit unrestricted water flow along the drainage channel.
