The senator for Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, has defected from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ubah’s defection was brought on by irreconcilable differences in the YPP, according to a letter that Senate President Godswill Akpabio read during a quick plenary session on Thursday, October 12. The letter went on to say that Ubah’s choice was in his constituents’ best interests.
During Nigeria’s general election on February 25, Ubah was elected to a second four-year term in the Senate.
