A man in Niger State was taken into custody for stealing two horses.

For stealing two horses from a farm in Chekungi village, Ahmed Abubakar Aliyu has been taken into custody by the Niger State Police Command.

 

As stated in a statement on Thursday, October 12, 2023, by the command’s spokeswoman, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the stolen horses were found and given back to their rightful owner.

 

 

 

 

“A case of missing horses from a farm at Chekungi village via Bida was reported at ‘A’ Div Bida on 04/10/2023 at about 1430hrs.

On 03/10/2023 at about 2110hrs, two female horses went missing from the stable where approximately five horses were kept,” the statement states.

 

 

 

 

One Ahmed Abubakar Aliyu’m’ of Zaria, Kaduna, who was at the farm and had been going there for horse racing and grooming, was the person the complainant most strongly suspected.

 

 

 

 

“At the time of his arrest, the suspect admitted to moving the two horses from the farm to a nearby bush and then paying 100,000 Naira to hire a vehicle from the park to transport the horses to Kaduna.

He was apprehended from the farm right away.

 

 

 

 

“The driver of the vehicle was contacted after making a confession, and he dropped the horses off at Mararaban-Jos, Kaduna.

A different vehicle was then scheduled to return the horses to Bida.

 

 

 

 

But the suspect is being held, the matter is being looked into, and as soon as the investigation is over, he will be charged in court.
