An 18-year-old housewife, Khadija Adamu has been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command for beating her 5-year-old stepdaughter to death in the Kandahar area of the state.
Igbere TV gathered that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, disclosed this on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, during a press conference at the police headquarters in Bauchi.
CP Muhammed said Khadija was arrested after one Abdulaziz Adamu reported to the police that the suspect beat Hafsat Garba, as a result she sustained serious injuries and was confirmed dead by a doctor at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH).
According to the Commissioner, the suspect confessed to the crime without much argument. He also went further to disclose that,
“Preliminary Investigation revealed that the suspect beat up the victim as a result of alleged pass-stood that spoiled her clothes and she sustained various degrees of injuries on her body
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the alleged offence against her without much argument
“Investigation is still ongoing, after which the suspect will be charged to court for the established offence accordingly.”
