Four Dead In Crash Involving 21 Persons On Lagos-Ibadan Road

Tragedy struck on Monday during the early hours along the Lagos-Ibadan highway in Ogun State, where four individuals lost their lives.

The fatal incident unfolded at approximately 12:45 am, as reported by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in a statement provided to the press.

According to Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the FRSC in Ogun, the accident involved a total of 21 people, comprising 13 adult males and eight adult females.

Out of the 21 individuals involved, three sustained injuries in the unfortunate collision – one adult male and two adult females.

It is with sadness that we report that all four of the individuals who tragically lost their lives were adult males.

A luxury bus with registration number, ACA533ZP had crashed with another vehicle that had no registration number on it.

β€œThe suspected cause of the crash was excessive speed which led to loss of control,” Okpe added.

She disclosed that the injured victims were taken to Famobis Hospital for medical attention, while the corpses were deposited at Idera morgue.

The FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, Anthony Uga, had described the incident as avoidable if necessary caution had been put in place and simple rules obeyed.

Uga advised motorists to apply common sense speed limit, especially at night when visibility is poor.

He sympathised with the families of the victims for the loss, enjoining them to contact FRSC, Mowe unit Command, for more information about the crash.
