The family of the renowned Afrobeat artist Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, has made an announcement regarding the funeral arrangements for their beloved mother, Juliana Balogun, nee Oshineye Dawodu Olowosago, who passed away on August 18th.
For those wishing to pay their respects and offer tributes, a wake will be held on Thursday, October 12th, at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, and Casino, located at 6-8 Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos. The wake will take place between 5-7pm.
The formal funeral service is scheduled for Friday, October 13th, at the RCCG City of David COD Church on COD Church Road, Dideolu Estate, just off Ligali Ayorinde Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, starting at 10am.
Born on July 26, 1990, in Surulere, Lagos, Wizkid grew up in a polygamous home with a Muslim father and a Christian mother. His father married three wives.
Wizkid’s mother was a familiar sight at most of his concerts and events.
She was born on July 14, 1957 and is survived by her husband, M.O Balogun, and four children, namely Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Osunkoya, Olubusayo Balogun, Ayodeji Balogun (Wizkid) and many grandchildren.
