The N-Power program has been put on indefinite hold by the FG.

Federal authorities have placed the N-Power program on indefinite hiatus.

The Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Minister, Betta Edu, revealed this on Saturday, October 7.

According to Edu, there are a great deal of irregularities in the plan, and they have started an investigation into how the money has been used since the program started.

The minister acknowledged that some beneficiaries receive monthly stipends despite being absent from their assigned locations. Edu also stated that some of the beneficiaries should not be on the payroll because they should have left the program in 2022.

He said;.

We will essentially suspend the program for the time being until we have completed a proper investigation into the utilization of funds into the N-Power program in order to go back and look at N-Power again in order to understand what the issues are.

We are interested in learning how many people are currently enrolled in the program, how many people are owed money, and how much.

We are completely expanding and restructuring the N-Power.

Numerous things are happening.

We encountered individuals who ought to have graduated from the program since last year but who continue to present themselves as instructors.

When we call the school or the places where they work, they are occasionally not there.

Although they are not employed, they continue to insist that they are due an eight or nine month stipend. About 80% of them are claiming salaries despite not working.
