Major General Benjamin Olufemi Sawyerr, the head of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), recently paid tribute to Squadron Leader Isetekelepirima Juliet Gogo-Akinrogunde, a dedicated Nigerian Female Air Force Officer who has successfully completed her tour of duty within the multinational peacekeeping mission.
Squadron Leader Gogo, during her deployment as the Leave/Welfare Officer at the Mission, which includes troops from eight different nations, namely Bangladesh, China, Ghana, India, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Vietnam, as well as staff officers and civilian personnel from across the globe, served with exceptional merit for a full year.
In praising her invaluable contributions to the Mission, Major General Benjamin Olufemi Sawyerr highlighted Squadron Leader Gogo’s outstanding performance in the diligent execution of her assigned responsibilities, particularly in the proficient management of troops’ leave and welfare matters.
He further emphasized her tireless efforts in ensuring that all visitors to the geographically remote mission were warmly welcomed.
Major General Sawyerr commended Squadron Leader Gogo for bringing forth the professional and organizational expertise characteristic of a Nigerian Military Officer, which has brought immense pride to the Nigerian Air Force and the nation itself.
As a token of appreciation, Squadron Leader Gogo was presented with the UNISFA plaque and Gold Coin for Peace in recognition of her dedicated service to UNISFA and her contributions to peace within the Abyei Box region.
