A tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday in the North Bank area of Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, where a pastor from Dunamis Church lost his life. The devastating event occurred as the church structure collapsed, claiming the lives of Pastor Emmanuel Baba and four of his fellow colleagues.
Bartholomew Onyeka, the Commissioner of Police in Benue, disclosed this sorrowful news to reporters in Makurdi. It was during a prayer session that this unfortunate accident took place, resulting in the loss of one life due to the collapse of the building in North Bank.
He said the four other pastors were responding to treatment at the hospital.
The church collapsed at about 2 a.m. and killed the senior pastor, leaving the four other pastors seriously injured.
Residents said the deceased hailed from the eastern part of Kogi State and was married to an Akwa Ibom woman.
