In the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja, 14 suspects have been detained for raising public awareness about the disappearance of private parts.
The police claim that the alarm caused some people who were allegedly responsible for the disappearance to be lynched.
According to the FCT’s Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, 14 men were charged because they allegedly misled both the general public and the police, almost resulting in the loss of lives and property.
Garba stated.
“The FCT Police Command has documented over 10 cases of alleged male organ disappearance across the territory and the increasing incidences of mob action by enraged youths.
“It takes the police command’s intervention to stop the destruction of lives and property and to reinstate law and order.
Fourteen suspects who claimed that their male organs had vanished were taken to the hospital, where the doctor confirmed that their male organs were still present and functioning.
They were therefore accused of spreading false information and causing a commotion in public. I would like to take this opportunity to ask the citizens of FCT to warn their children and wards to refrain from raising false alarms.
They are also warned against using mob or jungle justice because doing so could result in the deaths of innocent people.
Likewise, I want to caution FCT residents to be cautious about the types of vehicles they board.
They are advised to board painted taxis at specific parking lots. It is dangerous to ride in an unpainted taxi, also known as a “kabu-kabu,” as they could be targeted by one-chance robbers.
