A man was given a life sentence for defiling a 4-year-old girl inside a church in Lagos.

Ifeanyi Ndieze was given a life sentence for molesting a 4-year-old girl in a church by Justice Abiola Soladoye of the Ikeja Sexual Offenses and Domestic Violence Court.

On October 3, 2023, the judge ruled that, in accordance with Section 261 of the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015, the prosecution had sufficiently established the elements of the sexual assault by penetration charge against Ndieze.

According to the judge, the child recognized the defendant as the man who carried her during a church service and assaulted her sexually by putting his finger into her private areas.

“The child was brought home, and as her mother washed her, she began to bleed violently.

The hospital’s medical staff advised that the incident be reported to the police, the judge ruled.

“The child was still bleeding when she arrived at the police station, and her blood-soaked underwear was removed and put on display.

When the child was taken to the hospital, it was discovered that they had been forcibly penetrated and were in excruciating pain.

The inmate was a shameful spectacle, according to her description.

As he attempted to deny the crime, the defendant is a pathological liar. This kind of behavior is unacceptable. The defendant is hereby sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting the four-year-old child, Soladoye ruled.

She added that the convict’s name ought to appear in the Lagos State Sexual Offenses Register.

The judge advised parents to raise their kids properly.

Soladoye argued that the mother of the child shouldn’t have left the child with her six-year-old brother.

Four witnesses and four exhibits were offered by Mrs.

Dot Olufunke Adegoke, the Lagos State Attorney.

Together with his sister, nephew, and niece, the defendant testified in his own defense.

The defendant allegedly committed the crime on October 29, 2020, on Salau Street in Lagos, according to the Lagos State Government, which brought the case.
