Abia State Governor Dr Alex Otti have restated his commitment to work for the good of all Abians irrespective of their party affiliation.
The governor said this at the maiden edition of “Gov Otti Speaks To Abians” a press conference held at the Government House Umuahia.
Igbere TV reports that the press conference, which will henceforth be a monthly affair, is an interactive session with the governor and Abians.
Fielding questions from newsmen, the governor said he is elected to serve all Abians saying, “We’re working for all Abịans those who voted for us and those who didn’t, and we shall continue to ensure that resources meant to serve the good people of Abia shall be properly utilized.”
On the construction of 6-lane Abia Tower-Okpara Square Rd, he said due process was followed in the bidding and awarding of the contract and that there’s no secrecy in the process.
He however, declined to give out figures of the cost of the compensation paid to the property owners saying, “If you need information you can get it. I can’t come on air to say figures, it may expose the recipients to danger. If you need information, go to the commissioner for information.”
The governor also said that more roads will be awarded in Aba in the coming days. He said, “We didn’t start with Ossah Rd. About 11 roads are under construction in Aba. Three more will be awarded. By next week, Old express Rd would be commissioned. Aba is priority, Umuahia is Capital and should look like one.”
