Police rescue eight of the Ondo travelers who were kidnapped; 17 others are still held captive.      

Out of the 25 people kidnapped along the Owo/Ifon/Benin expressway on Friday, September 29, the Ondo state police claim to have freed eight of them.

 

According to SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the public relations officer for the Ondo State Police Command, 8 of the victims were saved by state policemen, and efforts are being made to save the other unharmed victims.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The victims, who were reportedly members of the Choir of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Oke Igan in Akure, the state capital, were kidnapped while traveling to Ifon for a funeral ceremony in the area of Elegbeka village.
