Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State says he has nothing personal against his deputy, Philip Shaibu.
Obaseki explained that his issue with Shaibu was straightforward.
He disclosed this while addressing journalists on Friday.
According to Obaseki: “I have nothing personal against the Deputy Governor and never had. For me, the issues are very straightforward.”
Obaseki and Shaibu have been engaged in a fight over the governor’s successor.
Amid the face-off, Shaibu had publicly apologized to his principal.
Obaseki accepted the public apology tendered by Shaibu, stressing that his deputy’s action caused him personal discomfort.
