Heavy flooding has led to the declaration of a state of emergency in New York City.

Due to flash flooding brought on by powerful storms, a state of emergency has been declared in New York City.

 

 

She posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, “I am establishing a state of emergency across New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley due to the extreme rainfall we’re seeing throughout the region.

 

 

 

 

 

“I urge you to take precautions to stay safe and to always avoid driving on flooded roads.

 

 

 

 

If you don’t need to go anywhere, stay at home, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) advised.

 

 

 

 

 

 

There have been numerous road closures, according to the New York Police Department.
