Reports has it that a fresh graduate of the University of Maiduguri, Baba Alaji, was among three civilians killed when suspected Boko Haram terrorists ambushed military vehicles escorting motorists along Gwoza- Limankara-Uvaha road in Gwoza local government area of Borno State.
Igbere TV gathered that the unfortunate incident happened on Saturday, September 23, 2023, around 5: PM when the soldiers and civilian JTF were providing cover to passengers travelling to Gwoza, Askira-Uba LGA in Borno and Northern parts of Adamawa State.
Reports also has it that the terrorists also set ablaze five commercial vehicles including a security patrol vehicle, adding that scores of motorists and passengers were either abducted or missing in action.
Alaji was said to have been to UNIMAID on Friday, September 23, to collect his statement of result and was heading back the following day when the terrorists attacked motorists.
The deceased was laid to rest at Gwange cemetery after a funeral prayer at the University of Maiduguri central mosque on Sunday morning, September 24.
Meanwhile, friends, colleagues and course mates have taken to Facebook to mourn him.
