A tragic incident unfolded in Gboko, a town within the Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, as a 17-year-old student from Government Secondary School took his own life on Thursday.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Sewuese Anene, officially confirmed this heartbreaking occurrence in a statement released on Friday.
According to the PPRO, the incident was promptly reported to the E Division Police Station in Makurdi. However, at this point, the details surrounding the incident remain limited and unclear.
Anene further explained that when the boy’s parents discovered him, they rushed him to Bishop Murray Hospital in Makurdi. However, doctors at the hospital confirmed his death.
Despite efforts to speak with the father of the deceased, Kula Tyochivir, he declined to comment and expressed a preference to discuss the matter at a later time.
