Five people were detained by the Niger State Police Command after they were found using a human skull in a money ritual.

In Niger, police detain five people with human skulls.

According to Abiodun, they brought the two earlier detained suspects—Isah Mohammed, 26, and Idris Mohammed, 28, both of Sakpe village, Edati LGA—to the other three suspects.

According to the statement, on the 11th of this month at around 12:30, agents from a sister security agency were conducting routine patrol at a toll booth on the Bida-Minna road when they came across a Mitsubishi Lancer.

While searching the passengers, two suspects were apprehended.

“The two suspects were transferred to the Police Area Command, Bida for questioning and further investigation after it was discovered that they were in possession of a human skull wrapped in a Bagco bag.

“During police questioning, the suspects claimed that they had obtained the human skull from their village.

They also named three other people who had assisted in excavating the grave where the skull was found: Ibrahim Jiya (18), Suleiman Usman (22), and Abdullahi Usman (24), all of whom lived at the same address.

The three suspects were also detained and confessed further that the skull was taken from the Sakpe village burial ground and that it belonged to a man named Ndako Daniyan who passed away there three years prior.

“Isah and Abdullahi claimed to have met a man named Alfa Suleiman from Kwara State at Bida three weeks ago who instructed them to obtain a human skull for use in money rituals and give it to someone in Minna with only 30,000 naira.

The unknown recipient reportedly told them to call him when they arrived in Kpakungu, where he would meet them.

“.

The five suspects, according to the spokesman, have been sent to SCID Minna for a covert investigation and assiduous prosecution.
