Tragically, Adebola Akin-Bright, the 12-year-old boy at the center of the controversy surrounding the alleged disappearance of his intestine at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), has passed away.
His untimely demise occurred on Tuesday evening, following a series of complications that arose at home, prompting an urgent transfer to the hospital’s intensive care unit, where he was eventually pronounced dead.
Notably, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made an unexpected visit to LASUTH on Sunday, September 3rd, in response to the outcry from Debola Abiodun, the boy’s mother, who had called for a thorough investigation into the unsettling circumstances surrounding her son’s missing small intestines.
The hospital management, however, refuted the allegation.
“After listening to Debola’s mum and the medical officers in charge of his care, I gave him my word that I would not only take over his medical care and expenses, I would also ensure that everything is done to get him better, and back at home with his loved ones,” Mr Sanwo-Olu said after the visit.
