Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun held a meeting on Saturday with the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, concerning the unfortunate demise of the singer Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad.

During this meeting, IGP Egbetokun issued explicit instructions to Commissioner Alabi, emphasizing the need for a thorough and comprehensive investigation into the musician’s tragic death. This directive was conveyed by Force PRO Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

Visual documentation of this significant discussion between the IGP and CP was shared, depicting their engagement at the Police Airwing, located within the premises of Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Ikeja.

He said, “IGP and CP Lagos deliberating on the death of Mohbad at the Police Airwing, Muritala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja Lagos on Saturday. The IGP immediately directed CP Lagos to deploy the command’s resources to carry out a thorough investigation on the matter. The IGP promised the CP of adequate support on the case.”

Adejobi also shared a photo of himself with Alabi, discussing steps to be taken on the investigation.

“With CP Lagos, CP Idowu Owohunwa in Lagos on Friday. We discussed at length on the right steps to be taken on the investigation of Mohbad’s death. We are sure the needful will be done, asap, to clear the grey areas. The police will continually speak to this matter,” he wrote.

Mohbad was confirmed dead by his family through a statement on Tuesday.

He was laid to rest on Wednesday in Ikorodu, Lagos.

The police on Thursday released a statement, saying they would probe the death of the ‘Feel Good’ singer after his petition against Sam Larry, an associate of Naira Marley, over alleged assault surfaced on social media.

Mohbad had a son with his wife Omowunmi.
