Recently, an old video emerged featuring the late singer Oladimeji Aloba, widely recognized as Mohbad. In this footage, Mohbad delves into the circumstances surrounding his 2020 arrest by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
This video resurfaced on a Saturday through social media channels, portraying the late 27-year-old artist lying in a hospital bed. In the video, he openly shares his experience of being administered an unusual substance during his time in custody.
Furthermore, Mohbad made the assertion that his former label mate, Zinoleesky, had played a role in informing on him during this difficult period.
“I was made to drink a substance I knew nothing about, but every other person wasn’t given that same drink. They said I was always on drugs, I’ve always trusted them with my heart and that’s why they were able to do this to me. I was even saying Zinoleesky when my head was held with a gun! The same Zinoleesky now snitched on me and did me dirty. Heavenly father is my witness, I can’t lie against them,” he said in Yoruba.
Mohbad was confirmed dead by his family through a statement on Tuesday.
He was laid to rest on Wednesday in Ikorodu, Lagos.
The police on Thursday released a statement saying they would probe the death of the ‘Feel Good’ singer after his petition against Sam Larry, an associate of Naira Marley, over alleged assault surfaced on social media.
Mohbad had a son with his girlfriend Omowunmi.
