President Tinubu Departs Abuja for New York on Sunday for 78th UNGA

On September 17, President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja for New York, USA, to attend the 78th UNGA.

Ajuri Ngelali, the Special Advisor to the President on Media and Publicity, revealed this to reporters at the State House today, September 15.

Ngelale claims that in addition to the General Assembly business, the President meets with top executives from various multinational companies to discuss digital transformation, innovation, and foreign investment in Nigeria.

He stated that the President will take part in significant summits centered on the Sustainable Development Goals and climate ambition.

Economic development and investment diplomacy will be emphasized in bilateral meetings with various world leaders.

“In addition to his engagements at the General Assembly, he has a number of very significant side projects that will have a significant impact on the Nigerian economy.

Following Mr. President’s productive trip to New Delhi for the G-20 and the incredible amount of investment he has been able to draw to Nigeria in a very short period of time, he is going to continue moving forward very aggressively on his economic development and diplomatic drive to draw foreign direct investment into the country.

With that said, I would like to let you know that His Excellency Mr. President will be meeting with the following important chief executives and leaders of multinational corporations that span many different economic sectors.

In order to ensure that our micro and small businesses will have access to the internet and other cutting-edge technologies that will facilitate their ability to transact business quickly and efficiently, the President will meet with Brad Smith, the President of the Microsoft company worldwide, to discuss how we can deepen digital transformation in the country and how we can expand the digital economic footprint in the country.

Mr. The President will also have a meeting with Sir Nick Clegg, president of global affairs for Meta Technologies.

This meeting is anticipated to cover a wide range of topics, including how to use new innovations like artificial intelligence and other applications to change how we conduct business in Nigeria.

He will also have a meeting with General Electric’s global CEO.

Naturally, General Electric is a very well-known international company that operates in a variety of industries.

They are heavily involved in the energy sector, producing electric power for aviation and other industries as well as producing engines for various modes of transportation.

Thus, we anticipate that to be a crucial interaction, Ngelale said.

He declared that the president will meet with Exxon Mobil Oil and Gas Company’s global CEO. He continued, “The Federal Government views this as a major opportunity to once again lay out in detail what Nigeria has to offer with respect to the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act and the fiscal and tax incentives that are being advanced by the current administration.”.

He claimed that the diplomatic gathering would promote investment in the oil and gas industry, not just in terms of oil but also more so in terms of gas.
