The Kebbi State Police Command has intercepted Cannabis Sativa (Indian hemp) worth over Six Hundred Million Naira (N600m) as well as 7,500 live cartridges at Tsamiya Maje in Baguda Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Nafiu Abubakar, who disclosed on Thursday, September 15, 2023, said four suspects were arrested in connection with the seizure.
Parading the suspects at the Command’s Headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, the PPRO said officers of the Border Drill while on Patrol intercepted the two trucks loaded with 4,927 and 4,906 Cannabis Sativa consignments with 7,500 live cartridges.
The suspects arrested are Shola Adeyemi from Akure Ondo state, Rasak Agbola from Oyo state, Emmanuel Chukuma from Abia state, and Kanta Bisa from Ghana.
The suspects and the truck drivers interviewed by Radio Nigeria, Kanta Bisa, and Shola Adeyemi said, they loaded the consignments from Ghana and Benin Republics respectively to Lagos Nigeria.
