Bishop Lawrence Osagie, the esteemed founding pastor of Powerline Bible Church, passed away at the age of 65.
On Tuesday, the church released an official statement via social media, confirming his passing on September 10 in Lagos.
The statement said, “In total submission to the will of God Almighty, the Powerline Bible Church Family announces the transition to Heaven of our father, founder, mentor, great teacher of the word, man of faith and God’s general, Bishop Lawrence Osagie.
“Bishop Lawrence Osagie, the founding pastor of Powerline Bible Church, passed unto glory on September 10, 2023 in Lagos at the age of 65 years.
“We thank God for the gift he gave us in our father, and we submit totally to our Lord Jesus Christ. He will surely be missed.”
The Bible passage, which also formed its caption, read: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
The church, situated at Cele Bus stop in Lagos along the Oshodi-Mile Two Express Road, boasts a rich history, having been established 35 years ago.
Osagie, a prominent figure in the church’s history, was among the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa’s most trusted associates.
