In Kogi, kidnappers ambush two buses heading to Lagos and kidnap 10 people.

Ten passengers on two commercial buses operated by the Benue State government that were traveling from Makurdi to Lagos were allegedly kidnapped, according to Omale Omale, the state’s commissioner for power, energy, and transportation.

Omale claimed that the incident took place on September 9, 2023, as two buses bearing the Benue Links Transport logo approached Okene in the Kogi state.

The two buses were waylaid near Okene, Kogi state, and four passengers from one bus and six from the other were taken hostage, bringing the total number of people taken hostage on Sunday to ten, according to him.

The commissioner claimed that to free the last few occupants of the two buses, police and a vigilante group had to step in.

They gave the drivers a clean bill of health and instructed them to continue on to Lagos.

According to him, the kidnappers have gotten in touch with the victims’ families and are demanding different amounts of money, even though the Benue and Kogi police are working together to find and free the kidnapped people.

While this is going on, Honey Terdoo has been named as one of the victims.
